Sea Buckthorn Tea

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 liter of water

  • 100 g sea buckthorn berries (fresh or frozen)

  • 1 orange

  • 2-5 tbsp honey

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • 1 tbsp spices (ginger, cloves, star anise)

  • Optional: 1 green tea bag

Instructions

Instructions: Thoroughly wash the orange, scald it with boiling water, and dry it. This helps remove the wax coating often found on imported fruits. Slice the orange into thin rounds. Peel and chop fresh ginger to measure about 1 tablespoon. If using dried ginger, 1/4 teaspoon is enough. Mash the fresh or defrosted sea buckthorn berries using a fork, potato masher, or immersion blender — the goal is to break the skin of the berries.

If using green tea, steep the tea bag in hot water (about 90°C or 194°F) for 3-4 minutes, then remove it. Add the mashed sea buckthorn berries to the hot water (or prepared green tea), followed by the orange slices and chopped ginger. Drop in the cinnamon stick, cloves, and star anise. Stir gently.

Cover the tea pot with a lid and wrap it in a towel to keep it warm. Let it steep for about 30 minutes. Sweeten with honey to taste just before serving. Enjoy this delicious and healthy tea, perfect for warming up and boosting your immunity!
