Meatballs in Cream Sauce

Meatballs in Cream Sauce
Yield: 5 portions
Ingredients
Ingredients for Meatballs

450 gr minced meat
-
20 gr aged cheese (parmigiano reggiano)

½ onion (finely chopped)

30 ml stock or milk
-
1 yolk
-
½ tsp allspice
-
½ tsp black pepper
-
1 tsp salt
-
½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (omit if you don't have it)

½ tbsp vegetable oil
For the meatball sauce
-
1 tbsp butter
-
½ onion, chopped
-
1 tbsp flour
-
250 ml broth (or water)
-
120 ml cream
-
120 gr cream cheese
-
pepper and salt to taste
Instructions
For Meatballs
In a large bowl, combine the minced meat, broth, finely grated cheese and onion, 1 egg yolk, allspice, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
With wet hands, roll into round meatballs. Fry the meatballs with vegetable oil over high heat until they are golden brown on the outside, INSIDE they should still be raw.
Transfer to a saucepan. Fill with sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.
For the sauce:
In a frying pan 1 tbsp butter and fry the onion over low heat for 3-5 minutes, then add the flour and mix with the onion, keep heating for 1-2 minutes.
Add the broth and stir until there are no lumps, then add the cream and cream cheese, salt and pepper to taste, and bring the sauce to a boil. As soon as the sauce boils, put the meatballs in the sauce, cover with a lid and simmer over low heat for about 5-7 minutes.
