Сottage cheese donuts (NO YEAST)

Prep Time: 10 min / Cook Time: 20 min / Total Time: 30 min

Cottage cheese donuts are very easy to make and ideal for beginners' backers. A quick dessert recipe, it takes only 10 minutes to prepare. Cottage cheese is a fresh, soft curd cheese, similar to farmer’s cheese or quark, dry and not liquidy at all. It is most often made with cow’s milk. Please, try to find enough dry and fatty cottage cheese. Pasty cottage cheese is not very suitable for this recipe.

Сottage cheese donuts (NO YEAST)

Yield: 30 donuts

Ingredients

Cottage cheese donuts

  • 450 gr cottage cheese (I have a dry one with 9%)

  • 50 gr sugar

  • vanillin

  • 1 egg

  • 1 yolk

  • 180 gr flour

  • a pinch of salt

  • 1 tsp baking powder

For deep frying

  • 200 gr sunflower oil

Decore

  • powdered sugar for sprinkling and berries

Instructions

Grind cottage cheese with sugar. Add egg and yolk. Stir until smooth. Sift flour with salt and baking powder, and combine the curd and flour parts. Heat the oil in a small deep saucepan. Roll the balls the size of a walnut from the curd part with your hands (about 25 g per 1 pc). Fry in oil until golden brown. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.

A little secret: in order for the sugar to cover the donuts with a beautiful crust, take fine sugar or just twist it a little in a coffee grinder or blender to make the grains smaller.
