Lazy Layered Pie

Yield: 1 pie

Ingredients

Base

  • 170 g flour

  • 170 g semolina

  • 140 g sugar

  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • 5 medium apples

For the topping:

  • 150 ml cream

  • 30 g butter

Instructions

Mix dry ingredients: In a bowl, combine the flour, semolina, sugar, and baking powder. Mix well.

Prepare apples: Grate the apples using a grater.

Prepare the baking dish: Grease the baking dish with butter and sprinkle it with flour to create a “French shirt” (this helps the pie come out of the pan easily).

Layer the pie: Layer the ingredients as shown in the video (start with a layer of dry ingredients, then a layer of apples, followed by another layer of dry ingredients, and so on). The top layer should always be dry ingredients.

Prepare the topping: Heat the butter on the stove until melted.

Add the cream: Poke small holes on the top of the pie with a stick or skewer. Pour the cream and melted butter over the top.

Bake: Bake in the oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 45–55 minutes.

Cool: Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.

Decorate: Decorate as desired and enjoy your lazy layered pie!
